Head Coach Zane Belden
Coach Zane is married with three kids currently living in Scottsdale, AZ. He’s spent most of his life in and around the game of golf in many facets and levels. He’s competed in high school, college and a short period of professional mini tour golf.
He’s an 11 time Club Champion of his home golf club in southern Illinois. He has also porvided swing and on course lessons. He served over 10 years as President of the Board of St. Elmo Golf Club. Since playing college golf, he’s had a goal of coaching at the high school or collegiate level. He’s traveled and helped facilitate large group travel destinations such as Ireland, Scotland and Bandon Dunes. He’s now enjoying coaching his kids and playing recreationally. His family attends North Bible Church in Scottsdale where he and his wife lead the hospitality and greeting team. Zane also leads monthly group golf outings for the men at North Bible church.
Coach Zane is passionate about sharing his life experience, on and off the golf course with young athletes to help them achieve their goals. He’s excited about getting started as Head Coach of the Desert Mountain Boys Golf Team and leading Wolves to a successful season!
Volunteer Assistant Coach Kevin Masterson
Coach Kev (Kevin Masterson) was the 2023 Head Coach for the DMHS Golf Team. He began playing golf at age 5 and has seen the game from many perspectives. After high school, Kevin found his passion in teaching golf which led him to move from Montrose, Colorado to Phoenix and begin coaching with Elite Golf Schools of Arizona. That lead to a career as a club professional in the Phoenix area including at the the team’s home course, Ancala Country Club.
Kevin has privately coached former DM players Alex Vekich, Jake Webb, Nick Jackson, Peyton Tosto, Tristian Moody, Trey Moore, Brendan Mooney & Michael Baker.
Kevin is now the Managing Director at New Level Golf Co. here in Scottsdale alongside Motionlab gym where many of our players workout.
VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT COACH
RYAN SCHAEFER
Coach Ryan was the Head Coach of DMHS in 2022 and for five years before that season. An avid golfer, Ryan Schaefer began playing golf at an early age and has enjoyed the sport for over 25 years. He has had 3 holes in one, and plays to a 1 handicap.
For the last 10 years he has studied under PGA teaching professional David Williams. Ryan grew up in Scottsdale, graduating from Chaparral High School. He holds an associate’s degree in business from Paradise Valley Community College, and currently works at McCormick Ranch in the player’s service area.
When Ryan is not on the golf course you can find him playing guitar in his band "The Tidbits.”
